ridiculous Verizon experience

ok,  I'm for the most part a happy Verizon customer but they really pissed me off yesterday.   I'm doing some work up by the Canadian border and I get these messages on my phone about being charged international data rates even though I'm in the USA.
I called them and they told me there is nothing they can do and I need to adjust my phone settings to not roam?   What the hell kind of response is that.   Is it really my problem that the Canadian towers are kicking out a stronger signal than Verizon?   How about adjusting their internal settings to not charge me?   I'm sure when the next bill comes it will be a pissing match to get it fixed.  Rant over.

Welcome to my world.  Just get the USA/Canada plan.  Problem solved.

Anythings better than AT&T.  Thank God I do not have them anymore.  I'd rather try to speak into a tin cup than go back to AT&T.

Justin-

I agree 100%. We're in the process of trying to cancel our internet (which has never worked since they switched from Alltel) and are going to do everything in our power to get them to waive the $150 cancellation fee. It'd be different if it worked here and there, or even in one room in the house. Then, not to mention all the dropped calls I get while standing in my kitchen. Or in the driveway. Or in the garage.

My AT&T internet has not worked at all either since they took over for Alltel.
