Any Access to Rice Lake, any fish biting?

For what its worth, a buddy who is very reliable said last week that there were a lot of northerns biting, from 18 in up to 7 - 8 pounds, but didn't see or hear of any walleye or perch being caught.
Might go down today and will report back if we do. |

I went fishing on Rice Lake today. We got stuck 2 times trying to get out on the ice. We ended up dragging the icehouse out from shore. We fished from 11 to 3 and didn't get a bite. I marked fish every 15-30 min on the vexilar but couldn't get them to bite. We were using wax worms and minnows jigging and dead stick and had smelt on tipups and didn't get a bit. Ice was good but the snow was deep and hard.

Want to head out to Rice this Saturday. Pretty new to ice fishing, never been to Rice and was wondering if anyone can share of a good place to start, secrets, any of that. I'd appreciate it and it'ld be our little secret.

Fished Rice Lake yesterday....waste of time....Got onto the lake from the boat ramp (SW side)...definately need 4WD.....got stuck for a moment getting back off the ice....snow has been plowed to make a trail on the north end of the lake.....way better access.....fished from sunrise to 5pm and only 1 bite all day.....dropped underwater camera down several holes and never spotted a single fish
