Was out on east end today. Very slow. Two 5 pound northerns on jigs and one 5.2 walleye fished from 7 am til 130pm. Fished from 18 to 6 feet. 17 is where the northerns were caught.
Lake Sakakawea is a reservoir in the Missouri River basin in central North Dakota. Named for the Shoshone-Hidatsa woman Sakakawea
Fished the arm yesterday, point hopped from tunnel point to Squaw, only caught 2 small walleye and a small pike. Missed a few bites as well. Water is 48 degrees at tunnel, 41 degrees at squaw. Fishing 25-30 feet with jigs. Very light bite, gotta fish slow.
anyone been catching big pike on the east end of sak lately??
Is the water open enough from shore to shore fish for big pike at skeinke?
I have noticed you like to get help from other's yet you can't post a report. Nuttin I hate worse than a taker and not a giver.
Your days of help from me are over.
fish adjacent to the main channel and be somewhat near where they are going to spawn. I have moved back onto the lake recently cuz the river has been rising the last 2 weeks. I have found the fish both shallow and deep depending on weather conditions. I pulled 2 9lbrs out of 5' and 24" on the same day(released both).
Peace, good luck
The fish are in the areas next to the "main" channels. I have been finding um on the areas close to where you would find the fish in a month(spawning areas) I have had to move back onto the lake as the river has been rising the last 2 weeks. I will not give you my locations, but have given you the clues to where ya need to start your pursuit. I have had good bites both shallow and deep, just make sure you are near the "channel's"
Peace, & good hunt'n
Any one have any tips on late I've fishing for walleyes. If you have any tips and wouldn't mind telling me that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hey not a fishing report sorry.
I have never fished this lake before but I am just wondering how is ice fishing normally on this lake? And if i decide to give it a try in the next couple years where are some good parts to try? I live by devils lake and fish it all the time. So an area to try on the east side of the lake would be better than the west for me. What are the main species of fish to expect to catch? thanks
Anyone been fishing steinke/ centennial lately with lots of success??
