Made it out again the past 2 days and haven't needed any live bait to put fish in the boat!  Jigs and paddletails pitching up when the wind is down has produced very well.  We managed 9 keepers in just under 2 hours.  But as the wind picks up it gets difficult to feel the jigs.  When the wind starts pounding in, out come the cranking rods!  The fish just pounded the cranks this morning as we C&R'd 15 walleyes in an hour!  Along with the eyes the smallies and northerns keep you very busy! Fish came anywhere from 3-10 feet.

The fish are biting on the midsection of Lake Sakakawea!  We've been out the past 2 days and managed some very nice fish.  The best bite has been in the morning on the classic jig and minnow pattern.  We have had our best luck pitching jigs up to shallow gravel points and working them back to the boat which i try and keep positioned in 10-12 feet of water.  The smallmouth bass and northern are also biting.

Fished Douglas Bay Saturday and between 3 fishermen we caught 2-19 inch 5-14 inch and a handfull of dinks in 12-15 fow, the eyes only seem to bite for an hour, the fish prefered dead sticks, didnt ever have a bite on the jigging pole.

on Sunday I caught a 25.5 incher in 20 fow on a trebble with 3 large minnows that was released, and had another of similar size break my line and a couple 14 inchers.
