Saw that coming.  Too bad there's high water everywhere, hard to get my catfish fix when theres very limited shore spots.

im not mad at the league for canceling this tournament but just disapointed. they should have scheduled the tournament at the north landing in grand forks. that landing is much higher than the east grand forks one. The other reason why im disappointed is the river is only at 24ft and dropping,by tomorrow it probably will be down to 23. yea i know the river is alittle hgh, but its a river and its the red river it is always changing. Same thing happened for cat fish day's, river was high a week before but time the tournament came it was back in its banks. I think that these tournaments should have never been canclelled, just because its alittle high doesnt mean that we cant fish. The rule should be if its over 28ft then cancel, but if its under why not fish. if you dont like high water you dont have to fish plain and simple.

I want to comment on this tournament comment.  First off I have nothing to do with the catfish league. They really had no choice but to call it the other day.  The reason was that they had out of town people who needed to know for travel planning.  In the case of the ramp in EGF it may have been open today but would have been a muddy mess.  Just not a good situation for a tournament.  On your comment about moving north, well that was discussed and there just was not time to apply for a new permit to make that work.

As for Cats Incredible, I am on the committee so I was at the meeting to cancel.  i have to say that decision did not come lightly.  There was a lot of money on the line and a lot of disappointment.  But to look at it from a management standpoint when they are projecting 28 feet, three days before a huge tournament you have to look at all angles.  One is safety and another is getting people where they need to be.  If that ramp in EGF was open that weekend imagine the mess of launching 100 boats and trying to find enough spots to tie up,  There was more to the decision and yes it was a tough one to make.

I am with you, fish to the end.  I have actually guided a trip at 30 this year and have had to back through 30 yards of water to load up at the RLR landing this year.  The show must go on and for us anglers who will push it well that is all fine and good.  This whole year has been messed up and hopefully this won't happen again.
