Red River in Grand Forks

Technically, the river is shut down in GF when it reaches 28 feet.

I wish I could take you out in Oslo in the next couple days but I'm super busy.

The Red at Grand Forks is open on the North Dakota side only.  Water is below 27 feet so all is well.  I suspect as things fall the ramps might get a little greasy but other than that go.

Patterns in the higher water have been snags tight to the shore, or shallower flat spots off the main currents.  I have seen fish rolling in the channel the past couple days but they don't seem to be feeding (at least on my baits)  Stay on the move, they are feeding and when you find em they are slamming.

I have been putting in on the Convent Land and Fort Aber as well.  The ramps there are not shut down and the fish are biting.  Hitting it again tonight.  I have about 30 frogs and I dont' think that will be enough.

Thats the first I have heard of a ramp being open.  Ussually as soon as the river hits 18 feet they padlock the gates.  The convent landing does not have much slope to it above the 18 foot mark.  How far are you having to back into the water to unload a boat?  My second question,  is it legal to put a boat in (in town) when the river is out of the banks? just questions not criticizing.

You would have to back down quite aways with that slope there I would say.

Well I won't not put a big 18 ft yar Craft in but Ihave a 1979 17" ft Blue fin that I don't need much to load and unload it.  I have been backing down to the wheels of my truck are in the water.  Aber is completely fine.  The water is moving but it is not bad at all IMO.  I really don't see much for danger out there.  Yes the water is faster but not much.  Still use my same anchor with a another once of weight on my set up.
