Evening 6.24 went out away from the dams in Fargo.  Managed a 13lb and 8lb.  Fished 7:30 to 10.  Fished the flooded grass with floating jigs and leaches from shore.  No hits on the worm and bobber.

The red in Fargo has been decent from shore on 6.20 and 6.21 evenings.  Fishing close to the bank (like a foot out) with a floating jig rig and picking up 10lb+ cats consistently.  A few small ones mixed in.  Leeches have been the only bait catching them.  Tried Sucker and cutbait with no luck.  The River is moving fast but being so close to shore it doesn't seem to matter.  Good luck

Well I fished Saturday and Sunday morning.  With no big cat success. My bait selection was cut and Spoiled Goldeye, Suckers and Crayfish.  Had lots of bites on the cut bait but only landed two cats about 3lbs.  The crayfish produced four small cats, a couple drum and lots of bites.  Nothing was being really agressive.  I also through some night crawlers on a gold spinner in dropped it in current to get some bait fish.  Ended but with 12 kitty cats, four goldeye and 3lbs sucker so I have cut bait for awhile.  I fished slack water, Faster straight aways, deep holes, shallow flooded trees, where drainage rivers come in and nothing big is biting.

Say can anyone tell me of a place to camp right on the river in the Grand Forks area?  Looking for a primitive site that's preferably quiet, i need to get away and catch some cats...

Attention shorefisherman.

The tributaries are chalk full of awesome multi-species action. I got a decent inventory of goldeye last night on a bobber, jig, and crawler, and switched up presentations with just a jig and crawler. Lots of small, eater, male Catfish with a healthy mix of Drum, Sauger, Walleye, Carp, and pike. All the fish other than carp, and the occasional drum or goldeye, are relating to current. So culverts, dams, etc should be the target.

Good luck!

Catfishing at Grand Forks is still going strong.  Nothing has changed since my last report.  I am seeing a strong preference to suckers and noticing that as night rolls bigger fish seem to be more plentyful.  Going to be a great weekend.

If anybody around the Grand Forks area would like to catch some Sauger, go to the inlet by Cabelas (creep up carefully to the rocks) and toss #5 Shad Raps, or a "Beetle Spin" with a 1/16th ounce jig and hunk of crawler. You'll get a couple goldeye also.

I never tried jigging off the bottom but I'm sure it would produce if one had a fathead, leech, or hunk of crawler. You'll see the mud minnows jumping out of the water to get away from them. Fun times for sure.
Good luck

Frogs are excellent bait.  I am not a big fan of them this time of year but many people are.  In about 6 weeks frog will be the bait of choice for many cat guys.

I remember reading a while back that these kittys love frogs.  Are they good bait?  I ask because my yard is full of them.  They are all around an inch or so long (body wise).  I live 5 miles north of Larimore and these little things are all over the place.  When I mow my yard they scatter all over the place.  It would be easy to catch a pail of these little buggars.  Are these things frogs, or toads, or ?

Went out last night and caught a single goldeye which was turned into bait.  Then caught a single catfish weighing around 8-10 lbs.  Very Slow.
