RCBS Reloader

Just purchased the RCBS Rockchucker Supreme Deluxe Kit with a few other accessories. Just wondering if any of you experienced reloaders have any suggestions, tips. Or is there any other equipment I may need to get started reloading. What is a good reloaders book? Mainly reloading for .308, 30-06, 25-06, .243, 22-250. My two favorites are in bold. Figure Jiffy and Hors will chime in with some help. Off to Elk camp for 6 days talk to you then.

Thanks in advance.

Pick up all the free handouts each company puts out, that's good reference material, doesn't have it all but gets a guy started fairly inexpensively.  After that decide what bullets you intend to shoot and pick up that manufacturers book.

Redding dies would be my choice simply because they come with an extra decapping pin right in the box, no real other reason.

Hornady One Shot lube.  At some point you'll want a tumbler.  I like the electronic powder dispensers from either Lyman or RCBS, saves lots of time during load development.

Alliant R-15 and R-22 could take care of every caliber you listed.

I would first try to get your specs from online... and if you come up short i would go to a sporting goods store and by the books that are specific for your two favorite calibers... and buy a big name book also... aka nosler, sirra , you get the picture...  the sight i use is www.handloads.com

i bought the Barnes 4th edtion reloading manuel and also the newest Nosler reloading manual. If your just starting to reload you might have problems finding primers. If any knows where I can find federal 210m primers please drop a note.

+1 on all of that....

You may eventually want to invest in a Trim Mate, or the likes, for your brass prep.  In general I dislike brass prep, this just makes it faster and the faster I can get this step done the better.

In general I'm not a big "brass prep" guy.  I'd rather spend my time shooting than preping brass.

Use a little flitz in your media, and through in a few of your old dryer sheets.  The dryer sheets help keep the media clean, and keep the static cling from building in it.

As far as reloading tips, find an expierenced loader, and ask alot of questions.  I bought a couple of the reloading manuals and read them, along with the older ones I got from my dad.

If it flies it dies!

Fine Maizezorb doesn't stick in the flashholes if that's what you mean.

For $150 Quickload/Quick target replace every reloading manual one could ever hope to purchase and you get a kick-ass ballistics program to go with it.

Buy a chronograph.
