Been bow hunting only public land for the last several years. This one spot is 160 acres of heavy timber-good stuff-The problem is the people who own or lease or have permission to hunt the land that borders the publc land.On the west side is a guide who baits and has payhunters on the east side is a  person who has permission to hunt that land.South side land is not posted, north side is  owned by people who bought the land to have a place to hunt. This year another bow hunter who been coming here to hunt for several years with his wife and son.put up trail cameras on the east and west side. When he came back to check them the memory cards were gone!!Hmmmmm I had my cameras on the south side-no problems!IThis other guy and i have  had run ins with the people who have hunting rights around the PUBLIC LAND-They have a problem with people hunting the WMA-also they get to bait and draw the deer off the WMA-But we -the public land hunters- are screwing up their hunting!!Gimme me a break!!Just had to vent a little!!Heading out to put up a stand on that public land!!

I would actually like a landowner with a food plot or bait pile next to public land.  By the time they get to the bait pile or bait plot it is often times too dark.  Set up on the public land on the trails they use and smoke a good one with plenty of time left.

I visited with a landowner I asked if it was okay to park my pickup near his drive.  He said he would like food plots but really what he would be doing is paying for the seed, maintenance of the plot, etc and public land hunters would reap the benefit.  Must say, he is spot on.  I probably would have been one of those hunters!

I guess it is no different.  I hunt public land by looking for travel corridors.  Almost every time the corridor is to a pea field, alfalfa field or whatever.  Set up below with correct wind and hope they keep using the trails.  If not, adjust.

But yeah, if they are taking your memory card that is something else.  Not sure why they didn't just take the whole camera (as most idiot psycho people would).  I remember last year I thought someone stole my card.  Then I realized I forgot to put the new chip in after I took out the one with photos!  Ha ha, yeah, I was real impressed with myself.

Sorry to hear about the douche'.  It's amazing just how many people have forgot what sportsmanship is about.  The way some of the people act you'd think it was *THEIR* mission in life to kill wildlife exclusively.

I have had a memory card stolen as well. The camera was laying facedown on the ground and there was no card in it. The little dink has a lot of good bucks to look at now!

Y'all call me a paranoid gun-nut now, but we all know who you're going to be running to for help when the zombies show up.

You will probably be shaking so bad because you are cold making photos too blurry.  Or you won't be able to take a photo because you can't even blink in concern of spooking deer....

Public hunting is tough i agree and i'm sorry to hear about your cards.  I'd be ticked off too.  I quit putting my camera out due to this reason and i chain up ladder stands now.  Hard lessons learned.  I don't know who or how but they had a will and no common sense so i guess i learned since i didn't catch them.  I do like the sign on the tree idea, nothing scarier to them more than the thought of  being caught in those big tracts of land.

Razor blades on the stands and ladders. Hide the blades and hope you cut off the pricks fingers!
Your either on something or on to something!
