I just purchased a brand new Franchi O/U Shotgun. Last night I went to shot it for the first time. Only 1 barrel would fire you could manual switch to the other barrel and get it to fire but you could not get the to fire with out manual switching them. I shot about half a box then it worked for 6 shells and then never worked again for the rest of the box. I called the company they told me to shot another 75 rounds. I took it out and got a chance to only shot a couple rounds they were heavy load 1 3/8 oz. again it didnt work. Has anybody had this happen to them any coments or sugestions would be great.

Nope, never happened to me. I think I'd be returning to where I bought it.

I'm with you Tonts...That thing would be going right back to the store. It should work right off the bat.

It is to gummed up from the factory. Take it apart and clean it!!!!!! It will not trip for the second barrel. Same thing happened on my Browning. Cleaned it & has not miss in 20 or 30 thousand rounds.

I agree with TOPGUN. Your Franchi is recoil activated. This meas that it takes the recoil of the first shot to set the sear to fire the second shot. My guess is that the compant put too much grease in the fireing mechanism and it is prohibiting the sear to set for the second shot. I would send it back to the company for inspection and cleaning the excess grease out, or make arrangements with the company to foot the bill from a gunsmith.

It is probably a grease problem from the factory. I bought a Stoeger Condor this winter, and the manual addresses this. Take a can of brake cleaner and flush the **** out of it. I'd bet it'll work!

Customer service is not what it used to be. I worked for Big Bear in Minot for 7 years and the gun company's were great would fix it right the first time NOT ANYMORE. The gun shop I bought the gun from have been very good to work with But Benelli what a joke. The first time I called them with a problem about my Franchi O/U. They said shot 100 rounds of least 1 1/4oz shells through it. when I noticed the gun would dent the primers but not hit them hard enough to make them go bang. I quit shooting it when I had a delay fire and the gun when off about 3 seconds after I fired it scary. Looking the gun over the firing pins aren't aliened properly and the pins are getting stuck on the frame. I called the up and told the problem and told them about the delay fire. Them told me to send it in so I did. Got it back yesterday look at the invoice and the said they fixed it and test fired it 24 times. I took it out and guess what first shot didn't work dented the primer but no bang Shot it several more times same problem one time pulled the trigger three time then the gun went bang. Called Benelli this morning told them gun didn't work, to is a very dangerous gun and a law suit waiting to happen. I told them I would not except anything but a new gun. All that they would tell me is that they would see what they could do. What a joke 1100.00$ shotgun plus 100 for gas and shells on my part testing it. What happen to the days when people did what they said and did thing right the first time. I will never purchase another Benelli product again I know they might make great guns but they provide crappy customer service.

Get it fixed locally then trade it in on a "nickle steel" model 12 Winchester. If you're worried about steel shot, shoot tungsten matrix or bismuth. Another option is have Briley install choke tubes. A true joy to carry. Mine's been going strong since 1923.

I'd pull the butt-stock off and make sure the action was clean before I did anything else.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.
