Pirate prevention

I am really starting to get to the point of aggressive retaliation against the pirates on the Sak.  In particular around White earth bay.  After 2 attacks last night my blood boiled.  I understand combat fishing, I've fished salmon runs, and steel head runs. There its understandable, limited space, a limited time the fish will be in the area.  The Sak doesn't have  either of those problems.  My solutions are all rather violent and mostly include sinking pirates I need some suggestions. Any takers?

A better description of your problem is needed.

Use paintballs to mark boats so everone knows who they are. Also can try large water ballon launcher to hit them with.

I think I read some place there is a law against that.   Unless you are Clint Eastwood.

Sounds effective.

I think about 10-50cal BAM just below the water line should solve your problem.

From past experience, bottle rockets do work very well.  Also, if they are within casting range, bring a paddlefish rod along for the ride.  There's something about that 5 ounce weight flying at them that causes people to get the idea rather quickly.

"From past experience, bottle rockets do work quite well." ?????  I could understand the sarcastic humor in the other posts about a somewhat annoying occurance, but this one makes it seem as if an adult might have actually fired a sparking, explosive projectile at another watercraft with possible exposed gas tanks in it all over a fishing spot??????? Not to mention lighting one off in your own boat.???????

gst:  Wow do you read things into my post that are not there.  OK, here's the whole story - Just for you gst - so you can rest easy.

When we were kids (NOT ADULTS)(25 years ago) me and a buddy took our canoe to camp on an island on Sak.  We risked our life paddling that canoe through 3 to 4 foot swells to reach that island.  We set up camp and started fishing on the calm side of the island.  We were there first, catching fish with no boats in site anywhere.  All of a sudden 3 boats show up and start trolling back and forth in front of where were had our lindy's out.  After about the 4th or 5th time they snagged our lines, my buddy opened up his tackle box and brought out the bottle rockets.  Yes he did fire a few in their general direction.  NO he did not hit them.  NO he was not trying to hit them - just trying to make a point.  They all exploded many feet in the air over the heads of the boaters.  NO we were not firing them from a boat (because we were on shore).  YES they did get the hint and they left rather hastily.  NO it probably was not a good idea, but we were kids and sometimes kids do stupid things.

There now gst.  Can you sleep at night now that you know all the facts?  Maybe you could even go on to your other threads and explain again to us all (for the 10 millionth time) why you think that HF hunting operations are right and why we are all idiots for not agreeing with you.

4yaks I have fished Whiteearth for over 30 years and this is not a new problem I suggest you tune up your fishing skills and learn to be more compedative nothing pisses people off more than to catch fish right next to them when they cant get a bite. I normally fish early and late in the year that helps to get away from alot of the people(most are fair weather fisherman). I hope this helps. If that doesnt work get a pattlefishing pole and sling a 5 oz. weight at them.

Mauser:  Yes I can reply without insulting people, but when gst comes here with his smart A** comments (of which he is never in short supply of) I comment back.  If this offends you, then please feel free not to come here anymore.

By the way, nice to see you still your good buddy gst's back.  Here's a question for you now.  Can anyone disagree with gst on any post without you coming to his rescue?  What are you, his wife or mother?

Sportsman " If this offends you, then please feel free not to come here anymore." Are you the owner of FB?

"What are you, his wife or mother? No I am not.  Wouldn't know him if I saw him,but respect him.

Again do you talk to your wife in the same manner as you do most people on this forum?

"Can anyone disagree with gst on any post without you coming to his rescue? "

Most who disagree with gst like Farnorth,Allen, and others disagree and show respect somthing you show very little of.

Do you treat your wife and family the same way?

I've always had ideas of doing this but never have had to so far.

Got yourself a good spot and having success.   Pull the engine cover off and continue fishing.   Pull the kill switch just in case you have to prove you are having engine trouble.

Pirates coming.  Yell at them if they can tow you into the launch way before they get close enough to find the fish are there.     If they are like most; they will disappear.  IF not let them hook up to you and tow you to your launch.    When they unhook you at the launch, fire up the motor and tell them thanks, they just saved you a bunch of gas.   Offer them zero money for the tow just because they are pirates.
