Hopefully last years poor harvest will thin out the crowds.

I really don't care how many people are there, I can't wait to get back out.  And if you want to get away from everyone, there is a guy that runs people up and down the river with his boat for a minimal charge.  This is at the Confluence.

Without a doubt, coming out into nature is one of the neatest things there is to do, but you also have to be careful. That’s why I always try to pack the heat — try to pack a gun. Just a little bit — pack some heat. Now this isn’t too — this isn’t much of a big boy, I don’t want to kill the animal, but I do want to warn it, and say “hey, I think you’re pretty neat, but I respect your distance.” There’s bears out here, there’s mountain cougars, and biting goats.

Does ND have catch and release days? Thats the only time I go. I have no desire to keep a fish thats older than me. They don't taste very good anyways.

i have no idea who that is behind me i guess. i agree with you NDtaxidermist! it has become a circus there at the confluence. i sure hope that last years poor harvest thins the crowd, but i kinda doubt. would be nice tho. ive taken a ride with the guy that has the boat, its nice cause he will take you just about anywhere. only thing that sucks is that there are so many people that he gives rides to that you have to stand in line forever waiting for your turn. i love going tho, great time to take a trip with friends and have a good ole time!

i know that ND has catch and release, i wanna say it's monday and tuesdays during the month of may or until the season is open. i love the taste of paddlefish, when they get over 40 50 lbs, thats when they start getting gross and fishy tasting.

Yeah, Mondays and Tuesdays during the season are catch and release, unless otherwise noted by the G & F.

We always like going for the Second Full week.  That way we are able to hit up the catch and release and catch one on Wednesday or Thursday.  Hardly any people during the week too!

The season was very slow last year. Both the confluence and the pump house were packed. Although i did see alot of nice fish come out of the pump house area 80s and 90s.

Just a heads up i did the transport fromt he pump house to the confluence last year and will again be doing that this year. MY cell during that time will be 701-770-5168
Just another heads up the station at the confluence tends to like to close down and beging sanitizing early at night so if you catch a fish around 8-9 i need to know asap so i can get it over there right away.
