I used to do it myself until I figured out that if you grab them on the rear part of the gill covers it paralyzes them a whole lot better. I sure don't miss the eye sockets digging into my fingers when those sob's start flopping. Darn near cut through your fingers on larger pike. "Diligence is the mother of good luck." Benjamin Franklin
