Photo Description:
Three of us went out for one last hunt in the snow. Birds were everywhere and so bunched up that there were times I couldn't shoot as I'm sure if I would have, 10 or so birds would have fallen.

Re:Nice limit of rooties FIO!! Nothing better than late season!! The last day I was going bowhunting and in the stubble field I caught a glimpse of a rooster but when I looked closer I could also see two other tail feathers sticking out of the snow. I walked out there and could have had my limit considering I didn't miss one. The two buried in the snow come blowing out of there throwing snow like a puff of smoke!! Doesn't get any better than that.
"When we step into the outdoors, we have the privilege of standing in the presence of God through the power and majesty of His creation. That makes hunting more than a sport or a hobby. It's a calling to something greater. And that transforms the places that we stand into something more than a cropfield or a pasture or a mountain. It makes that place Hallowed Ground." |

Re:That was a sweet hunt and a good way to end the season. Pretty depressing watching the sun set on that last day though. I was thinking about wrapping my unused deer tags around a couple of those roosters and roasting them in the oven this weekend. Something new I thought I'd try rather than the usual tag soup recipe. |
