It is an aggressive form.  His ears are laid back as if he was getting ready to fight.

I have seen agressive bucks that are PO'd and ready to fight with hair standing on end and ears laid back. The only thing is, when they are in this type of foul mood and are posturing, they are also walking stiff legged with neck outstretched and head lowered.

So without me sounding like a prick, here is some constructive criticism from me: Other than the ears, this mount looks good but with the head up and the ears laid back it looks more like this deer is sad, sick, or depressed. If you try the "aggressive buck" pose again, I'd get some photos of bucks that are posturing to go off of and try doing it with the neck outstretched and head down like all of those photos will show. However, without the rest of the deer's body I'm not sure if it would even be possible to accurately portry an aggressive buck with just a head mount.

Dirty,
Thanks for the comments.  I went with the aggressive form from Mckenzie and the eppley aggressive ears.  I did use numerous reference photos. Now I might have not got what the reference showed, but I do believe I got close.  I will try to find those pics again and post with the mount to show what I was seeing.

Thanks again.

I'm a taxidermist form N.D. and the ears on a whitetailed deer cannot hang down that low.  They basically have a pivot point which they can move strait back and forward. If you do any bow hunting or watch a video you can get a better understanding on how they move.  Keep practicing cause it's something you cannot learn overnight.  Other than that good second deer!
