Re:Morels are about as good as it gets. It's prime time baby.
It's one of the few things that is a higher priority than fishing (since the season only lasts three weeks or so tops). Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. |

Re:The ticks used to give me the creeps too. But after about a thousand of them, they really don't cause me a second thought anymore. Throw the clothes in a hot dryer when you get home, quick body scan, and it's over. Plus, I only seem to run into the bigger ones (not the little lyme disease deer ticks).
Now the buffalo gnats are another story. I won't even hunt on dead calm warm days if it's late season. Those black flies are THE WORST. DEET means nothing to them. Cold cloudy windy days are best with 55-60F degrees and blowing hard. Which makes it easy to decide to shroom rather than fish! Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.

Re:Ah man we have about 90% deer ticks here,I had two deer ticks last year that fell off my dog and imbedded under my skin, had to dig'em out with twizzers, had a red rash after words but I think the jack daniels saved me,blood came back clean.
