Pembina River?

Does anyone know of any fly fishing steams in northeastern North Dakota.  I drove up to the Pembina Gorge the other day and the Pembina River looked like it would be a good river for trout or grayling, but I have yet to hear anyone say it contains fish.  I tried searching on-line for an answer, but found nothing.  I guess I could just go start tossing some flies, but if someone could save me from wasting my time that would be great.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Um, not a lot of grayling in the Pembina, actually not many trout either. Mainly rough fish but closer to where it empties into the Red at Pembina there are catfish and a chance of walleye, northern and sauger and lots of rough fish there also. I don't know of any trout streams in the northeastern part of the state other than the stocked fish in the Turtle River State Park west of Grand Forks near Arvilla. You may also want to try some of the smaller man made impoundments on the tributaries to the Red. Some hold panfish if that turns your crank, the Homme dam by Park River, Renwick west of Cavalier, ect.

grayling?  LMFAO!  seriously!  If you put a boat in there try downriggers for lake trout.  They really bite this time of the year!  (grin)

Anything you would find in the Red River can be found in the Pembina, catfish, northern, walleye.  I know some Canadians who catch catfish and walleye on the north side of the boarder.  There are lots of rough fish to.  Absolutely no trout or greyling!

Go Bison! 'o'

bass-assassin,
Ignore him, there's one in every crowd. Not sure what he's a pro at but being it took all those trys and he still never said anything it's probably not anything too important.

I'm guessing you're not from the area and are looking for help. I've never fly fished, but I know there are stocked rainbow trout in the Turtle River at the state park near Arvilla which is west of Grand Forks about 1/2 hour or so. Some of the small Minnesota lakes east of Grand Forks have crappie and bass in them, something else you may want to check out.

if u are just looking to fly fish and don't care what you catch, DL and some of its feeder lakes north of town like Morrison, Sweetwater and Cavanaugh would offer u ample opportunities to catch some medium sized northerns on a fly rod.

A buddy of mine catches a lot of bass (i think they are small mouth) on Wood Lake.  Doesn't use a fly rod that I know of.  But, I guess they are nice sized and somewhat plentiful.  That would be a nice little lake to try.

The city pond in Langdon is stocked with trout.  I've seen some nice ones come out of there.  Maybe you're looking for stream fishing but this pond is worth checking if you are in the area.

Just poking a little fun bass, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. As far as the 13 posts go, I actually only did one.  Tim and I have been goin back and forth on this for a while.  He usually fixes it right away though. He must be slackin?  (grin) Oh yeah almost forgot, Bowhunt quit trying to figure out what my log in means.  it's way over your head anyway.
