Got out there before work tuesday. Threw a dead line and a crank rattler. Caught 2 15 inch pike off the rattler in 45 minutes. No action on the smelt.

Fished Patterson a couple times from Shore and the Kayak over the last week and a half that I've been here. Catching quite a few Pike from 19" to 25". Have seen some larger fish up shallow spawning. Must have been stocked as adults or swam down out of the river above. I'm assuming the fish I'm catching are 2-3 year olds that were re-stocked over the last few years.
I'm catching them all on artificial lures and a wide variety, but the common theme seems to be perch, fire tiger or clown colors. The rapala X-rap has been good. Other jerkbaits and cranks have produced too as have some swimbaits in the 4" size. Ive been looking for the walleye, but haven't caught any yet. Thought I found some perch and walleye schools near mid lake on the sonar, but couldn't get them to bite. Brian |

Got out after work for a bit on Tuesday. I wanted to see if I could find anything bigger than a 14" walleye. Tried in 17 FOW. Put down a few dead lines with minnows and jigged a clacking rap and a buckshot lure. Was able to bring a few into view on the vexilar and hooked into one but lost it on the retrieve. Also missed one on a dead line.

ice is about 10". Activity is slow. Very few fisherman out. Spent last three days out in the am and pm with no luck.

A few people out ice fishing, catching some 5-8 lbs pike, and some 12 inch throw back walleye.
Sounds like the restocking efforts over the last two springs are begining to pay back. |

went fishing for a couple hours to make sure the boat ran good and what not and tried fishing for the heck of it and caught 9 muskies around 12".

Is it going to be another winter kill on Patterson? With all the snow again this winter it doesnt look good. Has anyone drilled any holes put a camera in and taken a look? |

went to patterson on 11/21 on the west side of the lake. Looks like they are making the westside from where the river enters into to the beach area deeper. From taking a quick glance its about maybe a 10 foot drop off from shore and some holes that are deeper yet after the piles. But does anyone know if they are redoing the whole lake or just the west side? I got 3 areas that they should also do this winter. the 1st area is by the lake homes make that shore like steepier instead of a gradual drop off. Another area is the bay by the golf course. Its only about i would say 5-6 feet deep why not make is 10-12 feet deep before the drop off at the end of the bay? And the last spot is the shore line by the game and fish where the boat ramp is. Why cant they take a grader ans just make that shore like steepier to the bay towards the railroad tracks? But if anyone know more info let me know. I just hope they would do a good job before this spring.

It is true the bite is hot. They are just about biting on anything. Went out for an hour and a half and caught 6 pike about 1.5 lbs a piece.

fished patterson lake all week. i live on the south shore. the pike fishing is great me and my son cought over 30 pike in the last 2 days. the bigest was 15 pounds with the average size being about 2 pounds. also cought 3 channel cats over 12 pounds and one walley 3.5 pounds. cach them before the game and fish kills them. bitting on frogs and shad raps. im just fishing from the shore. try it. the more fish cought the less i have to clean up after they eraticate in october.

I heard on the news last night the game and fish is going to kill all fish in the lake and all tributaries feeding patterson. They are trying to keep the bullhead and carp populations from getting out of hand. They will drop the level of the lake 10 feet and start in the tributaries spraying a chemical on the suface that will suffocate all fish in the water. It is good they want to control the carp and bullheads, but it sure will put a hurt on everything else. they plan to restock next spring so patterson will be just a recreational lake unless they restock with more than just fingerlings. Just an update to those who care. Thanks

Has anybody been out lately? I was out playing with the boat about mid july and was marking alot of fish and only seen one other boat fishing. I heard they were restocking but have not personally seen any fish being released.
