They are almost talking 50 this weekend! Great weather, except for the ice fishing. Went driving south of Forman, and some lakes still had open water! Be careful this weekend everyone, don't let the snow fool ya!

Haven't seen this much action in years on lakes! I was out on Nathis Slough from 10 to 4... There must have been 30 vehicles parked on the roads. Action was unbeleiveable, if you like the 5 inch perch. Actually ran out of bait for the fist time in my life. Very fun could only have a couple of lines in the water because it was impossible to keep up.. However, I only caught 4 keepers around 10 inches. Maybe some others got into the bigger ones, but I sure didnt. It still was fun to get out and have some action. Everyone seemed to head to Buffalo around 3 for the walleye bite. I drove by there and saw many of the same vehicles I saw at Nathis. Be safe everyone, drove by some other lakes that still had open water..

Went looking around today.. Saw 2 of my favorite lakes to ice fish still had open water! Maybe go out to some that have been frozen all the way though instead.. lol.. Going out on Sunday either way.. maybe take the boat out instead.. safe fishing everyone! |

We have been on several different lakes over thanksgiving. Ice thickness varies from just over six inches on some lakes to only one inch of ice on others. Walked out on one with the bar and after twenty yards away from shore the bar went through like nothing. Very sketchy. Fished three different lakes and sloughs and caught perch and many small northerns. Be careful out there.

Just wondering if anyone has been on the lakes lately.. Hoping to get out this weekend while I can. Been windy lately, so hard to get out, but thought someone might be trying somewhere. If memory serves me correctly this was about the time some lakes got hot last year?

Looking at the 3rd week of October to fish in ND - saw an ad for Green Lake in ND magazine I subscribe to. Anyone with any experience on it around this time of year? Also saw other lakes in the area on Lake Link. Also looking for lodging for the week that would allow 1 dog. Thanks

Been picking up a few walleyes on the James river. Mostly smller males 18-22 inch range. Have seen a few spawned out females taken . Lot of northerns from 3-5 pounds also being caught.
