Shot this bruiser a couple weekends ago when I was up in Ontario hunting, We stay at Flag Island Resort, and let me tell you, that place was fantastic, very slow time of year for the resort so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. There was one other hunting party up there from Wisconsin and they were an awesome group of guys, Day one we made our game plan and set out on the boats. every push that we did was an Island, which was an incredible experience, to see deer being pushed off of Island and come crashing into the water and just swimming to another Island was an experience in itself! We didn't see many deer the first day but the country up there was gorgeous, and we did get into some fast and furious walleyes! Which woulda made the trip in itself! Day two was a lot more island pushing and not a whole lot of deer movement, Day 3 of our 3 day hunt came right down to the wire and on our last push we watched the drivers from across a bay to which I had a shot way out ahead of them at about 250 yards, once they drivers got to that point I relocated to another area that I thought would be a good spot to sit, after there for about 5-10 minutes I started second guessing myself of course and had to relocate, and man am I glad I did! found a little meadow on the island that had a beaver pond and a dam about 100 yards away from where we had set up, no less that 5 minutes later this guy came bolting out on the beaver dam and I dumped him at 108 yards and he rolled down into the beaver pond! This buck scored 147 inches and that is without brow tines, as he had never grown any which was odd! and he was a huge bodied deer, he weighed over 250 lbs after he had been gutted! it was an incredible hunt, and I will not ever be forgetting my first ever Ontario giant!
