online raffle questions?

 the high school is gonna do an online raffle eventually for the catch a dream project.  

My question is how comfortable are people with sending a check or cash to someone to buy raffle tickets.  would a receipt be sent back with raffle stub to approve they have received your money for the tickets.  now what could be done to make people more comfortable doing an online raffle.  any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Using an online pay service like PayPal would help a lot to alleviate any anxiety or fear for people to pay for them.  If the product doesn't arrive in a timely manner, the purchaser has options to protect them from theft or fraud.

I think people in general (and ND in particular) would be leery of sending in money(or Paypal) online for a raffle ticket. Many will think they will not even be put in the drawing. Something about seeing the person and getting a stub makes them feel safer and that they will be entered in the drawing.

If I were to do an online drawing, I would set up an electronic raffle. Where the computer randomly picks the winners (like the deer lottery). Explain the benefits of doing it online and how their information goes into the database right away and exactly how they type it. There are other things you can do but I think this would have the best results.

It's not that bad.

 sportsman, how would i collect the money tho.  i still need to get money.  the lottery thing would work but i still need to find a better way to get people comfortable sending money.  i would like to stay online so i can get more of the state involved rather than just the surrounding area.
