One man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that apparently occurred early Wednesday morning in Bismarck.
Bismarck police received a report at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday and responded to an apartment building at 176 E. Indiana Ave. and took one man into custody.
David Winter, 47, 176 E. Indiana Ave., was later arrested.
The victim?s identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives. The investigation continues.

I hope they are going to continue to investigate. I guess Bismarck is not above thugs either. Winter must be responsible for this.

Look where it's at and that tells you a lot. Always seems like the majority of terrible crimes in Bismarck come from that community.

Everybody wants to be Hank Williams, but no one wants to die.

Yep, that is definitely the ghetto down there. Not the first murder or attempted murder to occur within that 10 block radius. I can't believe they are all able to survive without being able to steal all their groceries from Wal-Mart anymore!

Usually that stuff happens more on West Indiana Street.  I lived there for a short time....pretty creepy sometimes.

This is an update from an earlier story. The story will continue to be updated as more details become available.

A Bismarck man has been arrested on allegations that he killed his father.

David Winter, 47, was booked into the Burleigh County Detention Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for homicide, accused of killing his 75-year-old father, Lawrence Winter. He has not been charged yet but is expected to make a court appearance at 3:30 p.m.

Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said someone reported a homicide at an apartment at 176 E. Indiana Ave. at 12:14 p.m. Police have not released who made the call to police. Both David Winter and Lawrence Winter lived at the address.

Officers arrived and found the body of Lawrence Winter, which was in a bedroom. David Winter, who also was at the apartment, was detained at the scene and later was arrested, Buschena said. Detectives were called in and processed the scene for evidence after getting a search warrant.

An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the cause and time of Lawrence Winter's death. Buschena said police believe he died in the early morning hours Wednesday.
