Tough lake to figure out. Some times the fish are nuts during the summer but they disappear during the winter. Some really nice walleyes, huge northerns and mega bluegills in that lake. When they hit, they hit and it is a slaughter. When they are turned off, it is like they don't exist. They don't show up on sonar or camera and they are nowhere to be found. I have never been able to find anything but the northerns through the ice.
There is a second lake - South tobiason lake, that has no access what-so-ever. In times of extreme high water the lakes are connected - normally they are not. My guess is that there are TONS of fish in south tobiason, but the landowner will not allow any access at all. No matter how nice you ask - you will not get access. It has nothing to do with him wanting the fish for himself or his family. He has some beef with the ND G&F and takes it out on all sportsman everywhere. |
