That just means more Colorado yahoos are going to be making their way into our communities.
It is however on the other hand better than the alternative.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

A really bad economy where not even our homegrown can make a living.

North Dakota Ranks number One...

In my book

My fear is  this boom is setting us up for a major bust in the construction industry.  With all the new contractors moving into the state to build houses and commercial buildings,  and with  the majority of that being associated with the oil industry .   If anything happens to the oil industry we will have a abundance of  contractors fighting for the limited amount of work, if any ,  that would be around,  The housing market will have been  overbuilt and proterty  vaules will drop like a lead balloon. Prices are  already grossly inflated on realestate  in the Western part of the state and it is moving rapidly East. I wish the pace would slow down to a steady increase instead of the full blown boom we are experiencing.  WITH A BOOM COMES THE INEVITABLE BUST

It isn't just out west or oil campanies.  I work in manufacturing in the east.  We could use a few hundred people sent our way as well.

There is no limit on a Good Time!!

Goosefishmen maybe if you worked a little harder at JD there would not be a need for more workers out "east".

So no Colorado or California yahoos... what about New Yorker yahoos??? My wife is currently in med school in NYC and we are looking for a place for her to start residency. We are actually originally from WI and cannot wait to get out of this F'in city! She has an option of Grand Forks or Minot. Any suggestions? I have fished Devils Lake every winter for the past 15 years and I am just looking for somewhere good to fish and hunt while she is at the hospital bringing home the dough (haha).

I think Grand Forks is the arm pit of ND,lol.  Minot is a great city, although right now there is a housing issue minot so houses are at a premium

Is she by chance going to be an Air Force doc? If so, does either location have Officer housing available?

She is actually just finishing up her schooling and wants to be just a general family doctor. I don't think the residency is at the AFB. I was just curious as to how the hunting is near either city and if there is some public land or places a guy can hunt. As far as the fishing, they both look to be about the same distance to Devils. Thanks a lot for the info guys.

Go for Minot.  Grand Forks is in the Red River Valley which is a biological desert.   While Minot is close to lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River system.  You will have to put up with oil activity, but unlike the Red River Valley there are hills taller than six inches, and some grass.
