Anyone having problems with the "Urea" mix freezing up? Has this issue been addressed or is this still a problem? I've heard a couple different stories of this.Originally there was only 1 heating wire for the Urea from my understanding.
Co. truck is about to be replaced and wondering if I want the diesel again or go to gas. 1 ton truck ,so like the diesel power.

The 2011's were a nightmare last winter,GM even bought some trucks back last summer under lemon law,the DEF fluid system has been redesigned for 2012,"is it any better?" don't know just yet, been to dang warm this winter.

For what its worth unless your pulling alot, for $7k to go diesel and the cost of the DEF fluid and the problems with GM system last year I would look at the 6.0lit,well proven powertrain.

Further, more C.A.F.E. regs coming in 2013  for emissions,I doubt GM went through a major delivery system over haul this year only to make more changes next year.

Plans are in place for GM's  complete truck line  in 2013,new powertrains and tranny's.

bro has a truck that runs that stuff in it He  said then when he runs out of the 5 gallons he has on hand the pickup is going down the road.  the big three should just quit producing all vehicles till the epa is dissolved  Other countries don't run that stuff.
epa already forced everyone to run low sulfer that is enough.

The truck he has has a detroit in it and he says about everyweek he has to put 5 gallons in it.  when it is cold out the check engine light comes on once above -10 the light stays off.

Cat finally told epa to shove it and does not put cat motors in highway tractors.  that urea isn't used in off road

Under which lemon law?   ND, MN or other?   Any other info on this would be appreciated.

Do you realize that GM outright STOLE nearly 22 Billion from bondholders?  In any bankruptcy proceedings, the bondholders are "1st money out" meaning they've got the least amount of risk, and, even if the company has to liquidate assets, the bondholders get paid.  But, in the bailout, they hosed the bondholders, gave them a 10% stake in the new GM and split the rest between the union and the Gov't.  Buy GM and you're supporting THIEVERY.

Which is better, Ford or GM/Chevy, as far as reliability and resale goes?

That is a good question. Every fan of every make will tell you a different brand that they like. I dont think there is a clear cut answer on that one, just personal preferences.

I have a 2009 w/6.4 diesel. Fuel, tires, and oil changes are all I have put in it during the first 45k. Only thing I don't likke very much is the stupid "smart" transmission.

Horsager,   you are kind of right imho.   Actually,  the Obama admin. hand picked their crony to run GM and used their thug tactics to strong arm the bond holders into caving and taking their deal.   Remember Obama himself got into the act publicly by calling the bond holders "greedy".   Of course the media looked the other way even though the bankruptcy process was totally illegal.

That's a cute commercial I suppose for those that like buying a name. I guess RAM figured since the current version of the cummins is greatly lagging in performance compared to the Ford or GM that they have to rely on yesterdays name and even then it didn't hold a candle when the pedal hit the mat.

I have a 2008 GMC Duramax for sale.  Only has 24000 miles on it.  Does not need urea.
