Ive heard marcum has some new stuff too - LX-9 and Lx-6 cant find a whole lot about them. The Lx9 is the lx7 with a camera combo and the lx6 is a mini version of the lx7 i think.

I was just sitting in the boat this weekend talking about how I was getting excited for ice fishing.

Seriously though, Rapala must really want to get into ice fishing more. Rapala VMC now owns Marcum and Strikemaster and Otter.

I'm excited to see some of the new offerings and developments.

Heres a link to more news on this. Pretty cool stuff. Definetly gonna make the competition step there game up.

Huh, those boys have been busy since ice out.  Rapala is a classic re-brander, so I am curious who makes their stuff for them.  Looks like the power head on the auger is an Eskimo.  Nothing wrong with more competition.

I love the new technologies - but the writers of their videos and web site need to be writing adventure novels or something. Talk about over-the-top!

The fishing/hunting industry is getting embarrassing - all the ads are starting to look the same, like we are going to war or on secret military missions or something. Good grief, it's ice-fishing, not a mission to mars to harvest rarified marsonium.

Reminds me of the old GI Joe commercials, trying to make something that is already fun and worthwhile seem 1,000,000 times more fun and interesting than it ever could be in reality.

Totally agree with you there. WAY over the top. After reading over some of the stuff its boarder line insulting.

We Are Ice Force

Once in a great while, powerful forces assemble to make history as an extraordinary unit. It happened on Halloween in 1991 when a trifecta of weather systems merged to create the Perfect Storm. Long before, during World War II, the United States joined forces with Western European countries and Russia to become the victorious Allied Forces. In both cases, the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

Give me a break.....comparing yourselves to the allied forces during WWII ?????

I just wait and find out if it's endorsed by the fishingbuddy experts then I buy stuff.

Although I bought the ipilot the year it came out - I knew that if it worked even HALF as good as they claimed it would be huge. It was.

Even the stories by the so called legendary fisherman ads on fishingbuddy are embarrassing.

That looks like a strikemaster powerhead and rapala does own strikemaster now. I see things getting even cheaper on the the new strikemasters.

Bem, while I don't disagree with you all new technology has to work out the bugs. While this is a pain in the ass marcum makes it easy. With any upgrade all you do is hook it up to your computer via USB cable and it took me 5 mins, ten tops.

Seems like cheesy products. The interface suit is just like ice armor but with a screen for your smart phone. Im pretty sure i wouldnt subject my phone to that cold. An eskimo with a different sticker, a sled, and a rod bag that isnt different than any other one out there. Stick to making lures

frosty-im just stating facts. not saying its not a good product, but i, personnally, dont want to update software 5 times within the first yr i have a product. had my vex for a yr and never had to update it, nor will i have to ever. when it dies ill buy a new one. i actually wanted the lx-7 when i got my vex but the salesman(who i have known for 7yrs, and has worked for reeds for 18yrs) told me not to get that junk cuz they had 70 in the store that people returned cuz they wouldnt turn on. if im paying that kind of money, i want to use it not update it out of the box. and yes i update the software on my GPS

Your right captain I didnt see it say viper engine in the video. I just saw the red and thought strikemasters solo engine. You would think that they would use solo being they own strikemaster.
