Nelson Lake - Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Fished Nelson for the first time in a couple years.  Started in the creek area.  Hooked one pretty decent bass with Texas rigged worm, maybe 2.5 pounds.  Water is very dirty, maybe 6" of clarity.  Worked the shoreline out from the creek all the way to the west boat ramp.  Caught one 4 lb bass just out from the creek and a few other smaller ones futher down.  Switched to the east side in the bays by the boat ramp and managed a couple more bass.  Overall the bit was real slow.  I am guessing because of the clarity.  The fish we did catch hit hard and fast, as soon as the jib hit the water.  Seems like we needed to put it right on their nose to catch them.  Still was good to be out and fish the lake at full capacity.  Only boat out there too.
