We usually do well of course right by the outlet, but along the rocks by the plant is ok too. It seems alot of smaller ones are by the outlet and moving out produces the bigger ones.. let me know how you do.. Good luck.. Oh and the crick used to be good, but it has slowed alot in recent years. Dont know why!

Intro: Forget about nelson for a couple weeks! the creek is flooding big time and the lake is filling fast the water is cold cold and the plant only has one unit up the water is full of debris and muddy, when i was there the other day the water temp was 33 by the dock! 52 comin outa canal but totaly cancelled out by all the inflow of cold and muddy water from the creek.

If your gonna fish this lake out of a boat don't be a numbskull and tie your boat off to the canal barricade. There is limited space for shore fisherman and boaters have the whole lake and they do crap like this. Today there was a young kid(and numerous other people) fishing in this spot from shore and a couple clowns did this preventing this 10year old kid and everyone else from casting to the opposite shoreline. People were actually leaving. Not only is it inconsiderate its against the law. Boaters must stay 100ft from shore anglers.

Went out last night around 6 with the wife and did some shore fishing. Started out by the west boat ramp throwing lipless cranks and spinnerbaits with no luck. Ended up by the output and each of us caught a little bass on a bobber with a minnow. After a while we realized the little hits we were getting were sunfish and for the last hour of the night we ended up catching a dozen+ 8-9 inch sunnies on a small jig and spikes/meal worms. Also, didn't go to the east side, but the water looked to be about 2 feet low on the west side. The ramp looked good but the landing dock was out of the water a bit, if you are by yourself and have a boat it might be awkward putting in there. |
