Caught a 6lb 9oz Northern using a nightcrawler and a bobber. Other than that, just a bunch of blue gill and a carp... all using nightcrawlers with bobber.

Went canoeing for a while yesterday and caught a couple panfish from it. Later on we pulled the canoe out and went shore fishing for the last few hours. Caught a good size Northern with a nightcrawler and bobber. It weighed 6lbs 9oz. Other than that we just caught a bunch of Blue Gill and one Carp. Pretty good day of fishing and water was as calm as can be.

I've been out on Nelson for the last two weekends (fri, sat, sun). The weather has been everything from rainy and cloudy to sunny and hot. Each day I've been out, me and my buddies have caught a total of about 30 fish all together each night. Most of them have been bluegill, but plenty of others. All of the carp we have caught were at least 6 lbs, worthless fish, but fun to catch. Hooked a Northern last night... got it right up to shore but before we could get it in the net... it snapped the line. Based on the size, i would estimate this pike was at least 8 lbs. Also caught a smallmouth last Saturday that weight 2lbs 9 oz. We've been using nothing but nightcrawlers and bobbers while fishing from shore and/or on the dock. Ticks are pretty bad as I'm sure they are everywhere else. Hope this all helps!

Went out on Saturday and ended up with 2 bass, one of which was decent size. Fished around the outlet as well as the East and West ends with mostly spinnerbaits. Water temp was around 79 degrees.

We usually do well of course right by the outlet, but along the rocks by the plant is ok too. It seems alot of smaller ones are by the outlet and moving out produces the bigger ones.. let me know how you do.. Good luck.. Oh and the crick used to be good, but it has slowed alot in recent years. Dont know why!

Intro: Forget about nelson for a couple weeks! the creek is flooding big time and the lake is filling fast the water is cold cold and the plant only has one unit up the water is full of debris and muddy, when i was there the other day the water temp was 33 by the dock! 52 comin outa canal but totaly cancelled out by all the inflow of cold and muddy water from the creek.

If your gonna fish this lake out of a boat don't be a numbskull and tie your boat off to the canal barricade. There is limited space for shore fisherman and boaters have the whole lake and they do crap like this. Today there was a young kid(and numerous other people) fishing in this spot from shore and a couple clowns did this preventing this 10year old kid and everyone else from casting to the opposite shoreline. People were actually leaving.Not only is it inconsiderate its against the law. Boaters must stay 100ft from shore anglers.
