Hey all, did you hear NJ Simonson in the LOW forum. Seems Mud Lake is putting out 2-3 pound perch! Spread the word, as guys are pulling limits of these 14 inchers all day long! :-) NJ I think you are right about the power of the internet!

Like I'm gonna tell just anyone on the internet about my secret perch lake near Ely, MN (47.8916°N, 91.8162°W).

Further, you think I'd let you know that the perch were biting in the southeast corner by the Silt Creek outlet in 12-15 feet of water on red-glow Genz worms and Fat boys?

My lips are locked tighter than a walleye's after a coldfront. You'll never get it out of me!

You must be outta yer freekin gourd!

Just got an email that someone pulled out a 15.5-incher this morning on Mud. ;)

That six months seems to go by fast. Not looking forward to June! :+{ I made it out there again this past weekend, and slow was the word of the day. We will definately have to get out again though Tim, Colten (sp) and you will have to try to head that way a little later in Feb. Especially since I think I left my shoes there, have to go to get them if for no other reason.

Tim - I haven't been out to pipestem. I haven't been anywhere other than tying flies in my basement, or on the road, or in the office. It's been a pathetic display of outdoorsmanship, that's for sure! Tomorrow is the day though! Hoo-rah! Ashtabula here I come!

Visited Mud Lake last night, I counted 230 vehicles on the ice, and turned back. It won't be long and everyone will find out about Sand Lake four miles to the northeast. Crappies the size of dinner plates on Northland Foarge Minnows with the smallest minnow in the bucket. ;)

Ya got me nj!dang it!Had the map out,gps... would'nt surprise me though people catching Jumbo's in that range on a pothole lake in ND.Heck some of the best(biggest)gill's I've seen have come out of farm ponds in IA and SD.The exception on Big Bull Gills was a refuge lake near Valintine NE,12"14"ers.

Anyway,thanx for the drill:+)

Isn't it strange how you always hear about 14" perch, but never that elusive 15" perch? They must not be able to support length like that, and just kinda turn into green, black and yellow footballs. I think a 15" fish would be like the Manute Bol or Yao Ming of the perch world, freakishly long, and one out of a few billion.
