Took these pictures of the river and flooded hay and crop fields. These areas are usually dry, with hay bales or standing crops.Several locals people from Mchenry country and Bottineau county attended the Souirs River Joint board meeting on tuesday in Minot. The impression they got was that its all about managing the river from Canada to Velva. That nobody seems to care about all the other people and land after Velva to the canadian border.

This is one spot where the water is running into the river off the flooded fields,Usually by june this is dry and you could cast across the river very easily.

Well I guess you only have yourselves and your state legislators and other local leaders to blame for your voice not being heard.

the state is returning to lake agassiz

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

JohnR,

That Towner area and to the north wasn't a part of Lake Agassiz, but it was a part of Lake Souris.  Hence the really wide and flat areas, not so much different than the Red River Valley which was a part of Agassiz.  That's why the Souris river valley west of Minot appears to be well cut as a valley but when you get to Towner it's more like a flat plain.  Also why there's such sandy soils in the area.
