Like I said, the stuff I read said cats will scrape the ground.  Should be some mountain lion crap though.  As indicated in other photo is the shavings up or down?

Sorry Tim, - we didn't scan the dirt patch for scat.  It was a pretty smooth patch i remember that.  The title only indicates what i believe it is.  People can believe what they want.  It would still be a fantastic buck rub.... or saskwatch scrape.

Not thinking it is a mtn. lion.  The lions would getting on 2 legs and scratch.  This scratch doesn't seem high enough.  Very well could be a bobcat but find more scrapes on the ground than scratches.

Have had bucks do that around our farm in the past and am guessing that is what this is.

Also would say a badger.

The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard
