I know a guy who says he has asparagus growing around his place and I can pick it if I like.  Does it only come up in a certain time of year or all spring until fall?  Does it taste like the stuff from the vegetable section?  I love the stuff so I am excited to go get some.

Would love to find some morels too.  I will look around when I am out there but not going to try eat them until I know for sure.  Heard a guy on the radio talking about getting poisoned by mushrooms and it does not sound fun.

Asparagus best in spring and early summer--cut often to prevent it from getting too big (not tender), and going to seed.  Taste is similar to in-store--maybe a little sweeter.     As to the mushrooms, morels are a pretty simple mushroom to ID correctly--look up on web--delecious, nutty flavor.

I'm glad you have posted this topic,  I have been asking around all day, if any of my coworkers could point me to some wild asparagus patches.   It just so happens  there is an old patch growing in some woods  where morrels are known to grow!  I'll start looking tomorrow!!!
