I see fleet's add this am and those rapalas that are over $10 --- -sorry but unless if its a musky crank - Rapala and the rest of those high priced cranks can go he!! on that type of price.    Too many trees to eat those up.

What is the limit your willing to pay per crank?

Well, I have yet to buy one of those "real"  cranks I've seen at Scheels and Runnings.  They're what, nearly $20 each?

They are too pricey for the terrain I fish.

My biggest producers have been the standard #5 and #7 raps.  No need to mess with something that ain't broken.

Perch, orange and blue dot raps number 5 and 7's still work wonders as far as I know.

Wow that is outrageous!!  I don't mind spending the $6.50 for the Rapala's because I know they are gonna run true right out of the box.  Same with paying a little more for the Salmo's.  The max I would pay would be $8.00!!

A great investment is the Hound Dog lure retriever.  Sells for about the price of one crank and pays for itself with the first use.....Has saved me at least $100, especially if fishing around trees!!

I try to buy mine for 5 bucks or less.  Find a guy that wants to unload a collection or pick and choose on ebay or other sites.

I've paid up to $50 for some sinking rapala shad raps in really different colors that they haven't made for years.

+100 Agree on the lure retriever. not sure the brand but ours expands too like eighteen feet long and has saved many dollars.

I got one of those - - just sayin -      you still lose them long lining / wind blowin like a sob casting and you cant get to the spot etc etc.   Even to buy every color - think of the price at that amount.   Cabelas, scheels, gander, sportsman - they all have the same price.

I just bought two of the new Rapala MaxRap casting cranks for down at the race. They were $18 a piece but I just gotta give em a try. One in ghost and one in clown. That is probably the most expensive cranks i've bought (except for musky lures).

I have had great luck with Salmo Bullhead lures for multiple species. They have more action than Raps. They are great for shallow running. If I recall the cost is around $6.
$10 is my limit on what I will pay.

I find myself not going over $8 too much.  Salmos are pretty much right there along with Shad Raps if you don't search out the better prices.  Though last night I was looking at some of the Koppers (sp) Live target lures in the Cabelas catalog.  Their Smelt and Gizzard Shad crankbaits look really, really good and I'd like to try them.  But gotta get over the $12 price tag!

Anything over 2.50$ is way to much, they don't cast that much to make.

7 to 10 dollar crankbaits is not very fun, but  if people are willing to pay that and more then by all means do it.I'll stick to my 2 to 3 dollar deals I find that catch just the same.

I have had a couple cheaper crankbaits lose the rear hook. Can't remember the brand off hand. Luckily never in the water but twice with a bigger fish in the net. Never had that problem with a Rapala.

As for max to spend, no set limit. It all depends on what it is and what I have in my wallet at the time

How much will you spend on electronics, boat, rods, and other gear?  All you need to catch a fish is hook and some string.

But for me i'll pay for things if they catch fish, i've never bought any cranks over $10 but some of those new ones look good.(they'll catch me, but will they catch fish?)
