went out to moon lake saturday trolled with crawler harnesses from about 4 till 9 about 5 little walleye and one nice perch pushin a 1 1/2lb weather turned to shit but other than that it was an ok day. Also does anybody know how to fish chinook salmon on moon i saw that back in 2004 the stocked 560 adult salmon and any tips on how to catch trout out of moon would be nice.

Re:the only salmon I've ever heard of being caught are through the ice...the trout however hit anything shiny and moving....crank baits seeme to work the best I've had my best luck infront of the trees on the south side. try silver rattle raps they run about 3-5 feet ...good luck and let us know how you do....

Re:The salmon are no longer as they have died...a few years ago actually unless I am mistaken. There were quite a few caught in the 42-45 FOW through the ice. As I was told, those salmon were not expected to live more than 2 years in Moon. As far as trout try a small spinner along the weedline or in the weeds at a very slow speed...and quiet! I agree with yelowjackt, the south side is good as well...so is the absolute SW area. Good luck. |
