I saw 4 boats out there today.  They were fishing between the bridges.  I saw their trucks and trailers at the dock by the Grant Marsh bridge.

There is still ice/snow on the ramp at Little Heart and also in the parking lot. The river was open all the way across though. I would think they haven't cleaned Graner's off either.

You can't aim a duck to death.

I drove by the river Thursday evening and it looked like there is open water south of the 12th street bend. That is a good sign. It will be opening soon. However the forecast doesn't sound like any big thawing in the near future. There will most likely be lots of ice for a while. While the main current will open up there is still plenty of ice over the shallower areas.

Stll icefishing down at the Rifle Range.  Ice about 2 feet thick, at least as far as I care to go out on it.    Sure wouldn't wander out there too far, though.  .

I just drove down the Bismarck side (12:30 PM) to check the river.  The river at the Desert is wide open and all they need to do is push the ice off the ramp.  The river is wide open at the Rifle Range and for as far south as I could see.  There is a thirty foot ice shelf in front of the ramp, but the wave action is working on it pretty hard.  It will certainly be ready to be opened by Monday.
I put a call in to Burleigh County to clear the ramps.  They should all be usable early next week.

I take the rifle range comment back! Fished there in the morning, and my buddy was fishing there last night and though the ice was still 2 feet thick in the holes and it looked white as far upriver as he could see, it moved and he had to jump across 3 feet of water along the edge!   Guess its gone this morning!
Now, if they'd push the remaining ice off the ramp we could all splash down!   Thanks for putting in a call, Xero.  .

I was just told by an official at Burleigh County that both ramps (Desert and Rifle Range) should be cleared on Monday.

The Desert and Rifle Range are south of Bismarck.

I stopped at Little Heart tonight(5p.m.), it still has a 3-4 foot deep snow drift blown across the ramp.  Just a matter of getting the loader to push it in.
