Kind of a weird question. Im heading out to bismarck at the end of April, I will have the bass boat along. Probably staying 2 or 3 days. Has anyone fished the missouri river for bass and if so where does a guy go?? I will be hitting nelson for at least 1 day, but kinda was wondering if guys bass fish the missouri?? thanks fellas

No bass to be caught on the missouri in ND this time of year.  smallmouths move up into the river from oahe when the water warms up and make it as far up as the tailrace on really hot years.  If it's bass yer after, I'd just go to Nelson.

Yeah the only thing you're going to catch or see people catching are walleyes and lots of them. Though I did catch a really nice smallie on the river last year while jigging for walleyes, but like multi said I would stick to nelson

Agree with the other 2 gents. I have caught a few smallys the end of April but it is probably 3 in the last 5 yrs. I would not pursue them. Grab your walleye stick.

One option would be to chase Smallies on Lake Audubon.  The ice will be going out right about then.

scratch that idea. I heard nelson is shot due to inflow of cold runoff and lots of debris.
