Misty waters public and private docks are ok to launch as of tonight as well as the Fox Island ramp.  The dock was pulled by Bis Parks and Rec from the Grant Marsh launch.  Doesn't look like anyone with common sense should use that one as the water is up beyond the sloped portion of the launch and well into the parking lot.

since nowone is fishing the river.LOL....i will post this report..fished last nite around the kimbal bottoms(desert area) from SHORE. no special equipment again...cuz i don't need any.lol...no one around me except one afro american about 200 yards away..seen him pick up one nice walleye about 25 to 27 inches...from what i could tell through the benocks...had 2 rods in one with multi colored floater with minnow..didn't produce nothing but a stick...other rod which wouldn't stop ringing my bell was a crawler harness with 2 red hooks with a minnow on each, hooked through the head. current did move my rig some using a 3/4 once weight. tried closer to shore and further out with about the same results...hope to get out this weekend in someones boat and catch some better sized fish..plus there should be a lot of boats tooling around the river so i guess i should be able to see some new spots..:)..best bet i believe right now is a lindy with plain hook and live bait..but that's my opinion take it or leave it...might get out tonite again since i had some action last nite...shorelunch

Fished in the big group of boats just south of memorial bridge this weekend. Action was decent. Picked up 6 on Sunday and 7 on Monday. Mostly caught them with jigs and minnows from 10-17ft. They were biting light, and we had to feed them line a little after the strike was detected. Seemed like most boats were catching fish here and there. When we got tired of the crowd we found a couple 7-8ft deep flats and trolled shallow cranks, which also produced a few nice fish.

Went out on Monday and tried spots south of town and around town.  Me and a buddy picked up 9 and kept 8.  Nothing fast and furious but a nice day on the water.  Hopefully bite will pick up when water cleans up a bit.  Also if anybody is interested in entering the Big Muddy Walleye Classic there is a spot that opened up.  Talk to Todd or Dave and the Pony Express Conoco.

Tried the rifle range yesterday.  Water clarity might have been all of 5.2 inches at most.  Temp 46. Wow, the lake is high, almost no current.    River channel a lot different from last year.   Didn't see any fish caught but heard of one or two, but most were skunked trying to fish in the liquid mud.
We heard closer to town the water was much clearer.

Nice to be on the water again.  The weather broke a little on Saturday but work prevented prime time fishing for me.  Part of my time was spent discovering the channel changes again but managed to pull some cranks for a few hours north of the Grant Marsh Bridge, south of Heskett.  Caught one nice 28 inch walley and one northern.  Lost another large fish with no ID made.  Next morning at about 6:30 to 7:30 went out before church caught one 22 in.  A lot of boats out there, I am sure many have done much better than I.  I believe most are jigging.

The wife and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather this morning and we went fishing down at the tailrace. We were out in the boat and threw every thing/ color at them without a single nibble. Tried floaters, twisters, green/white, pink/white, jigs, minnows and even night crawlers. All I can say for the fishing right now is POOP SOUP! I guess I will have to drive all the way to devils lake to catch a fish dinner.
