Report Details
Fishing around the Bismarck area continues to improve as fish are still moving up and nicer fish are moving closer town. The presence of smaller fish is still plenty but great action none-the-less. Had boats out last week and numerous fish were caught vertical jigging and pitching jigs into shallows with jigs and plastics have been producing as well. Most of the larger fish in the 19-21 inch range are being caught in shallower water. Percentage holding spots are few and far between compared to last year, but works out better sometimes as it makes it that much easier to find fish. So they’re definitely there – just make sure to move around a bit and find some slower moving water. And, when you do – fish it. Don’t be afraid to fish shallow.

Re: I will second what our guide says. I fished 11-13 fow in slower water and caught a bunch of small fish. After going through almost a whole scoop of minnows today, I moved shallow in 5 fow and limited with 16-18 in fish in less than 20 minutes. I am fishing a little south of Mary college.
IT IS BETTER TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS THAN ASK FOR PERMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
