Missouri River (ND Lower Portion) - Monday, September 27, 2010

 Fishing the river portion down to the Cannon Ball has picked up a bit with some nice fish moving into the area.  We had two boats fishing the Tumble Weed Tournament this past weekend, which was held out of Bismarck.  The boundaries were from the Little Heart to the Cannon Ball.  One boat took 2^nd place, weighing nine fish for a total of 32.14lbs. For them, the fish started off real good but slowed soon after.  So, the fish weren’t jumping in the boat, but none-the-less, nine fish with over 32lbs is a good day of fishing. A second boat took ninth weighing nine fish for 17.63lbs.  Again, the fish weren’t jumping in the boat for them either and had to work for their fish.  Both boats were jigging. 

They’re really running a lot of water right now and the current is moving really good causing a lot of debris and water conditions could use a little improving as well.  Once that happens, expect things to really heat up in the Bismarck area.  Good luck to everyone else.
