Missouri River (ND Lower Portion) - Monday, August 30, 2010

Report Details
Put in a Beaver Bay,  Went south the rain stayed to the north so we were able to fish.  I thought we picked the right day.  We had the perfect chop and fished with crawlers and bouncers.  Then the lake went like glass.  Got hot 93 when we got back to the dock.  Caught (1) 6lb walleye and had 3 other dinks.  (5) 1.5 perch and caught 5 catfish all around 7 - 8 pounds good fight...  and about 12 Pike all around that 3 pounds.  One would have thought we must have been in shallow water  but we were at 14-16 fow.  Also missed a ton so all in all one never could guess what the next one was, take lots of crawlers along.. Good Luck...Talked to the cusion in Mobridge and the bite it still on nice fish 20 -23 inch fish...

I too put in at Beaver and ran to the grain bins south of Yates and fished 15-20 fow pulling cranks. Caught everything in the lake. Was a fun day with a lot of fish.

Simmsjs,

I plan to camp this weekend @ praire kningts and plan to fish the Yates area south of the Bins.  Early this summer we fished that area in boats sand done real good.  I have fished that area for many years from shore an have done well. Have you fished the point to the south ( 4 Mile  ) come this fall it is hard to find a much better spot to fish.  I just can't seem to figure out if I should take the shotgun or the fishing rods.  Question for you are the trees gone in that area.  I want to shore fish and will have like 6 kids and 4 adults.   So rather than some going in the boat and others on shore I would like to put them on shore fishing.
