Military Fishing Tournament Cheap Fun

Good fun cheap tournament for a great cause for those with some sort of a military ID card. Good Luck and Good Fishin!!!!

Attached is the application/ Rules for the 5th Annual Kim Barstad Fishing Tournament held at the MSC @ Camp Grafton, Devils Lake, ND on August 6 2011.

 

Tournament registration will start @ 1700 5 August 2011 at the Military Service Club followed by the rules meeting at 1900. One member of each team MUST be present for the meeting.

 

Each team entered in the tournament MUST have at least one team member who has a Military ID (Active, Retired, or Dependant ID) any branch of Service are welcome.

 

New Aquatic Nuisance Species Laws are in effect so clean and disinfect you boat, Bait wells/buckets and bilges if you are coming from other waters or have been in another State. This will insure that you are not spreading ANS from other waters or even across State lines.

Rules

·1  LOCATION

MSC, CAMP GRAFTON

 

·2  ELIGIBILITY

A minimum of Two (2) person to a maximum of Four (4) person team, of which one must be a Military member with a military ID card (active or retired or military dependant)

         Persons under 16 may participate only as a teammate with someone

18 years or older.

 

·3  REGULATIONS

All contestants must observe U.S. Coast Guard and ND Game and Fish Dept. rules, regulations, laws and license requirements.  Life preservers must be worn when boat is on plane.    Boats or vehicles may be boarded and checked at random. All fish must be contained to a live well or cooler. No stringers or baskets allowed.   Shore fishing will be allowed.  Team members must fish within 100 feet of each other at all times.  All teams are responsible for their fish following the tournament. Contestants are reminded that the “Spirit of the Rule” will prevail in all judgment cases.

 

·4  FISHING AREA

All navigable waters of Devils Lake

·5    FISHING HOURS

Outing will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  

 

·6    CHECK-OUT AND CHECK-IN

         At least one team member must be present for mandatory Friday

         night Rules meeting.  Each team will receive a key tag/ team number.

         In order to check-in, a team member must deliver their key tag to the

 score board at the MSC before the 4:00 p.m. finish time or they are late. Teams may then proceed to weigh in their catch.

 

·7    ENTRY FEE

Entry fee shall be $30.00 per Four – person team. 

Checks should be made payable to the MSC

In the event of cancellation or rescheduling due to inclement weather, entry fees will be refunded.

Tournament is limited to 49 teams.

 

·8    SCORING

Team standing shall be determined by a total weight of: 6 Walleyes. Anglers can only have 8 Walleyes in the boat.   In order to qualify for weigh-in, Walleyes must be 15 inches minimum in total length.  Ties shall be decided by the largest Walleyes

 

Teams who return within 15 minutes after check in time, will be penalized ten (10) percent of their total weight and be disqualified for largest fish prize.  Over 15 minutes late will result in disqualification.   All fish will be weighed in on the LRAA official scale.

 

·9    PRIZES     

         Plaques will be awarded to the top five (5) teams. Two (2) plaques will

         be awarded to each team. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five

         (5) teams based on 75% of entry fees received.

 

·10 WEATHER

Listen to the local radio stations for cancellation and rescheduling information.
