MDU plans diesel refinery near Dickinson

imho,  better option than a state run/funded refinery.   The free market works if given a chance.

I think its a good thing.
To produce some of our own products for our own area, just cant be bad. It might even lower the prices, while employing some more southerners.

Probably will refine it here, and then ship over seas or out of state.

I told myself there would be at most 3 posts before a negative post.

"Unarmed helplessness is for sheep and the French."  Ted Nugent

"The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it."

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

On the other thread it took three posts and  formations in the ground are getting the blame

Are they going to produce it to sell to the public?  I read somwehrer that it was ony for their own use, but don't understand how they could use that much deisel fuel to warrant an entire refinery.

Correction -   Delta Airlines bought a refinery back East somewhere and they are only going to produce Jet A with it and only for their own airline.  An attempt to lower fuel costs, one ofc their largest expenses and most unpredictable.
.Sorry about that.....Brain flatus again...

You have to have quailified help no-matter where they are from I guess.

NOBODY bemoans qualified help.  Nearly everyone besmirches idjuts.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

MDU talked briefly about this at their share holders meeting a month ago, good idea IMO as with all the CRP acres going back into production and the oil drilling activity showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon this can only help at taking some pressure off a very tight diesel supply in this region but there will be plenty of opposition from the NIMBY crowd
Anyone know where the status with the diesel refinery the Tribe was going to build is at, last I heard they had received some of the permits they needed to start moving forward with it but haven't heard anything recent

Well, I don't know final status but there is now a big billboard (not really a billboard but a large sign) stating "Future Home of Makoti Refinery" or something along those lines.  So take that what its worth.

Have they found financial and technical support for this endeavor?  I can't recall hearing about any major refiner coming forward to work with them on this.

Is it next to the big 4X8 sheet of plywood asking for a vote for the guy that is in it for his people?
