Looking to buy some adult pheasants

Our local wildlife club is looking to buy some adult pheasants to hopefully release this spring. Our supplier from last year has sold out their inventory. Anyone know of any producers that have some left? Roosters and hens. Somewhere close to Southeast North Dakota.
Thanks in advance, Skoalie

I'm thinking it might be time to start growing our own to release in the spring.  It seems to be harder and harder to find release birds.  Just a thought.

My advice, put your money into habitat, otherwise you will be feeding coyotes or birds of prey! JMHO!

Yes this is true. But how the heck do you think Pheasants got to ND?
You can have all the habitat you want and if there is no birds they are not going to just appear out of no where.

A group of us have been buying Adult heans from SD for the last couple years and it has made huge improvement to our area even with the bad winters. We have been buying hens only and releasing them in the spring into areas with some birds. And by fall the numbers have been very good.

You may find their sheds! But I'll shoot them dead!

We used to do that in the early 90s. But the guys that did it got burned out. I think it made a big difference releasing them though. I never saw birds when I was young until we started releasing. I know the stats say that habitat makes a bigger difference but if only one hen survives out of 10, and reproduces. That is big in my book. I have contacted most of the suggestions and no one has any available until fall.

you may try Gisi game birds from south dakota, i believe they are located west of aberdeen.   Another one could try is swenson game birds north of Verona, ND. Are club has gotten birds from both and have had good success!

Skoal,

This is where I got mine, however I'm not positive that she will have adult birds in the spring, I know she hatches thousands of chicks for folks to raise and release in the summer/early fall. It's worth a shot though. I have a few adult hens right now but I assume not the quanity that you're looking for.

She will have plenty of birds for you in the spring.. They will start laying soon and she is done with them about the time wild birds are starting to nest.. I have delivered a ton of adult birds for her in the spring to repeat customers and everyone says they nest and adapt great..
