I find this very intresting. I would love to have a chance at a MN wolf. Considering MN has more wolves than all of the lower 48 states you'd think that they would have considered this earlier. I'm in.

Sounds like 400 will be allowed to be harvested and they will sell something like 5000 tags at 50 bucks a pop.  I did hear they are looking to have the season after deer hunting.  We in Minnesota gotta have some perk so it better be resident only   I loved when I was in your boots man considered a resident in both states that was nice

Having the season after deer hunting is setting the whole thing up for epic failure and is absolute proof that someone within MN DNR doesn't want a single wolf killed.

I very selfishly hope it's not residents only, but I won't complain if it is.

Sounds good but one hurddle will be in the way and that will be law-suites from animal rights groups.

that was addressed in the article out of Duluth yesterday that it wouldnt make much sense to have it outside of the deer season they used Montana as an example.

HUNTDUX,  we periodically see wolves when in Minnesota bear hunting, if you go out after one let me know and I can put you in contact with a land owner who could point you in the right direction.

Would you call them?  or bait them?

We see the same thing while bear hunting as well. We have a cabin West of Big Falls that is surrounded by state land. Depending on the laws dictating the take of these critters I would bait and call. Or cut a fresh track and use the hell out of my snowshoes :)

HNTDUX, you probably hunt very close to my in-laws. They have a shack right off the river west of Big Falls. I saw a lot of wolf signs while I was up there this fall.

Off the new road then black topped a few years back? Leads to Gate's Corner?
My buddy who is part owner in the cabins last name is Schieji pronounced  "shea"

That name sounds familiar, my in-laws are the Steltons and Treats. They have several shacks spread across the area but my father-in-laws is right off County RD 30 about a half mile past the bridge that goes over the river.

To start im a ND resident and I wish multiple things were resident only. Keeping the MN people on there side of the river. Caught 2 younger guys shooting coyotes on posted land that were from MN then followed there truck to a dead end road where they "disposed of" there coyotes on the ledge of a bridge along with 6 beer cans and 2 empty packs of smokes. Couldnt have pissed me off more.
Keep it residents only

i agree deer...but money rules the state of MN and non res tags would be more expensive thus generating more money to this broke ass state. i hope its only MN res like myself that can kill wolves. ill pay 100 bucks for a wolf tag if its just for residents...and i know where there is some
cant drink all day unless you start in the morning.
