what really defines the differance between a critic and a jerk is that a jerk will make fun of and put down hard working highschoolers who put dozens of hours of time into a play that is really hard to do, let alone doing it well, when they could be watching tv, playing halo, doing drugs, or other things. some of them have even been doing it for 4 years, many have put hundreds of hours of time into something that they don't get anything out of other than the pure satisfaction of it, the satisfaction of putting on a good show. if you have ever made fun of a group of young people being model citizens, why?

You probably are right, but you are on the wrong site to be looking for respect IMO. It's not an easy thing to come by on here for some reason.

Time and place? My wife has been wanting to see that one for quite some time. It will buy me some clemency and parts of it are actually pretty funny.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Edmund Burke

"The time at which I stand before you is full of interest. The eyes of all nations are fixed on our Republic. The event of the existing crisis will be decisive in the opinion of mankind of the practicability of our federal system of government. Great is the stake placed in our hands; great is the responsibility which must rest upon the people of the United States. Let us realize the importance of the attitude in which we stand before the world. Let us exercise forbearance and firmness. Let us extricate our country from the dangers which surround it and learn wisdom from the lessons they inculcate."

-Andrew Jackson, 2nd Inaugural address, 1833

Break a leg!
Hope it goes well. I was involved in one play, and it was a ton of work.

you came on an outdoors website touting an absolute bore of a play/musical/opera and then ridicule for me saying I would be miserable for having to sit through it.
Good luck with your little play, but let me state again, I would be miserable grande if I had to sit through it whether put on by professionals or my daughters preschool.  Give me a 'Tom Jones' or 'No, No, Nanette', just not Les Miserables.
As far as appreciating hard work from kids, I AM a school teacher, I think you missed the mark on you assessment of me, JMHO.

 BTW,
was the lead in 3 plays in high school, and a supporting actor in 3 musicals in the summer.
Hard work, for sure.
But all the hard work in the world will not make Les Miserables interesting to me, sorry.

I don't  think the mark was missed.  If you don't have anything positive to say about a group of high school students say nothing.  You are certainly intitled to your opinion though!!!!  Expressing it in this negative fashion is poor taste.  Just no explaining poor taste.

You might be bored cootkillewr , but lots of people here wouldn't be. No need for sarcasm.
I've seen it on Boradway a couple times = Wow!   A tremendous undertaking for a high school to put on!  Fantastic.
I'd be first in line for tickets if I were a bit closer.

If you think Le Mis is an "absolute bore" you don't have much appreciation for well written music.

dispite the fact that one of the audiance members had a seizure and had to have medical attentian, and one of the trombone players had a migrain and lost vision for a few peices, opening night went as well as any one could have hoped, the play directer even said this was the best play he ever did, and we still have 7 more to go.. only 2 1/2 to 3 hours each, only 10 words in the whole play are not sung and there is no break after any peice, so that's 3 hours non stop playing in the pit.
