Ran across this stuff on a Walleye Central Forum and found the parts on ebay if anyone wants to do it.  I've already have the LED lighting but this seems a bit cooler.

Video from the guy who did it.

Here are the parts.

whenever i look for LED light strips, they are super expensive.
at 99 cents for a 28" strip, i question the quality and longevity of these lights.
anybody else? not trying to knock what you found because i too could find uses for them. just not sure if i want to spend the money only to find out they are junk.

Hold my beer while i land this walleye!!

That's pretty cool.  Wouldn't you want red or green for night fishing, though?

Personally I would do red for night fishing. Ahab, have you ever tried having lights on a floating buoy? I read about on WC once and the guy said it worked great. Bright light away from you if you're casting and you can still have red in your boat.

I wouldnt buy any cheap LED's.  Most of the quality stuff we get for jobs run about a buck a foot

Very cool. Anybody good at this stuff that would want to rig my boat up like this?

Its pretty easy, run wires from your battery to the 12V driver, plug lights into driver then peel and stick

I suck when it comes to electronics. What's a 12v driver?

Did almost the exact same setup on my boat about 5 years ago. Used the LED rope lights. After the first night trip out I tore them all out. Mounted up on top or the side where they are visible caused a lot of glare and made it really hard to see anything outside of the boat all though it did a really nice job of lighting the interior of the boat. I went and remounted the rope lighting under the toe space on my boat along the bottom. Now there is no glare in the eyes and still lights up the bottom of the boat so you can see very well in the boat but still be able to see outside of the boat.. If you are going to use the strips or rope lighting I highly recommend you mount them so that you can't directly see the LED lamps or you will have the glare / night blindness problem.

Very cool but i'm thinkin red or running these on very dim otherwise you'de definitely lose your night vision. Fishing the tailrace at night a lot I can testify to that.

The driver is usually a two inch by six inch box that will convert your battery power to usable power for you lights...They make some really nice stuff that is completely  weather proof and you can cut it every 3 inches and it has 3m tape on the back for easy installation.

Im heading to the supply house this morning, Ill see if I can get you a price

I cant say I have fished past dark in 10+ years.
They seem pretty cool, but would never get used in my rig.
Night time is for campfires, smores, and whiskey

You have to night fish the tailrace at least once in your life.

i actually work for dvorak Motors Pro shop in bismarck ND, we do setups like this here in our electronics department. But what we would Use would be a high Quality RGB setup costs a bit more but gives you the abality to change the color and the brightness so you can get setup with white light but while your actually fishing use a red or green or a blue color so you dont lose your night vision.. anyone who wants this type of lighting just give the proshop a call @ 701-751-2646

So you never want to do it again?  I did it for a while and found it to be the opposite of enjoyable and relaxing.  It was more like a skiing down a black diamond course after a freezing rain.  If that was my only time to fish, I guess I would do it but that's about it.
