Late-Season Hunting Opportunities End Soon
Late-season hunters still have time to get out in the field and enjoy North Dakota’s deer, waterfowl, upland game, turkey, small game and furbearer opportunities.
The season for Canada geese closes Dec. 24, except the Missouri River Zone closes Jan. 1, 2010. High plains duck hunting continues through Jan. 3, 2010.
Archery deer, sharp-tailed and ruffed grouse, partridge, pheasant and tree squirrel hunting seasons continue through Jan. 3, 2010.
The fall wild turkey season closes Jan. 10, 2010.
Bobcat, mink and weasel hunting and trapping, and muskrat trapping are open through March 14, 2010. The muskrat hunting season closes May 9, 2010.
The mountain lion season in Zone 2 is open through March 31, 2010. The mountain lion season in Zone 1 closed Dec. 11 after the predetermined quota of eight was filled.
Fox, coyote, raccoon, badger and beaver hunting and trapping are open year-round.
Tentative 2010 Season Opening Dates
To help North Dakota hunters prepare for hunting seasons in 2010, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department annually provides its best estimate for opening dates for the coming year.
Dates become official when approved by governor’s proclamation. Tentative opening dates for 2010 include:
