Lakemaster Requests

I found on the lakemaster site there is a page to request certain lakes.  I'm not sure if they've already decided what lakes they will survey this summer but maybe if enough people request that SAK be mapped in HD this year...who knows maybe they'll do it....

The last version they have of sak says its at 1810...almost worthless now...but if they map it when its high it will be good forever, especially with the new humminbird exclusive features that allow you to adjust water levels.

Yeah I don't understand the Corp on Sakakawea either.  Talk about a perfect time to cost share LIDAR collection with several agencies both public and private.  I hope Navionics or Lakemaster run the lake now.  They let the first one get away so I hope they don't let this high water get away too!

Funny how they have the LIDAR data on Oahe, but not Sak?  The one thing I know is my old Navionics chip is junk now with the water up for both lakes.  Lakemaster here I come!

Uhh, LIDAR isn't capable of seeing through water.  So I would prefer to have LIDAR from when the lake is empty, then have the ability to fill it with different layers at the respective countour intervals.

SInce all of that is a pipe dream, what would be useful is to shoot LIDAR when the lake is empty (say 1810) and then publish the map as being at a certain base level, then all I have to do is punch in an offset on my depthfinder/GPS and I will know the structure and depth.

And since we hopefully won't be back in the 1810 range for many years, I hope I never get my wish for a contour map based on LIDAR.
