belldar,
do you know if any walleye or gizzard shad were planted ? |
|
Lake Tschida (Heart Butte) - Tuesday, April 26, 2005
Hey guys they planted around 3,500 tiger muskie and around 200,000 northern so I'd have to agree with belldar that there's no fungus involved in this case probably just one's that were stocked in there last week.

Lake Tschida (Heart Butte) - Tuesday, April 26, 2005
I too witnessed the few dead fish near the boat ramp, but I was also able to net a few of these small fish that were stacked up in the shallows (only to identify) and I can concur with belldar. Again, no worries.

Casualties from the trip from Pennslvania. Tigers were stocked there this last week and when fish are stocked some don't make it. No worries.

I talked to a friend fishing crappie creek yesterday and had no luck. But, he saw a few dead tigermusky on the bottom shore with some looking fresh. Hopefully this is just a fluke.

Camonlongrifle,
I appreciate you doing this...means a lot to me. I just got off the phone with my brother, told him it was for sale, and we are going to pursue it. Fishing report, a buddies brother fished Tschida yesterday, caught 10 walleyes "all small" and put them all back also. Camonlongrifle, Some day hope to meet you on the waters of Tschida. I'll be in a Black 18ft Mr. Pike Lund, two walleye decals on the back sides. Good Luck Fishing!!! Thanks |

Coyote,
That's a great story about the cabin...I totally understand the roots and the tradition within something that a man has put a lot of hard work into with his own two hands. One of the hardest things in the world to let go of is something with so many memories behind it. You can see the advertisement at www.bismanonline.com and click on the real estate link. You may have to go through the pages to find it, but they even have their own link to their advertisement web page for the cabin with a lot of different pictures of the cabin. Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else. Good luck with the cabin!! For the rest of you, fished Tschida today from 1:30 til 4:30 PM. Caught 2 walleyes, one being a nice 18 inch fish and the other 15 inches which were both returned to the water to spawn. Neither fish was spawned out. Coyote, hope all goes well with the cabin. Good luck! |

Camolongrifle,
I would appreciate that website for the cabin. My father rebuilt that cabin by hand.....we put many, many hours into that deck, sliding doors, basement ect.....few years back, my father passed away...us kids have been talking about buying that cabin back for years, but it was never for sale. There is a lot of memories in that place. Fished Indian Creek yesterday.....Fish aren't biting there either.Four hours of fishing and not a bite. I live on Patterson Lake, there hasn't been a whole lot of activity on the lake, like the past few weeks...I'm guessing the bite is off here also. I am going to try tonight for a while on Patterson. Once again thanks for the heads up on the cabin. |

Lake Tschida (Heart Butte) - Saturday, April 23, 2005
I forgot to mention that I talked to the G&F about the fish die-off at Tschida and according to them, they are not sure what happened, but it doesn't appear to have affected any game species and they won't know much more until they do their test-netting. I know this doesn't help much, but that's all they know right now I guess.

coyote,
Thanks so much for the generous report on the location of fossil point. Also, I'm not sure if you were aware, but the cabin you are talking about with all the windows and the big deck that you moved to the lake and built up back in the day-I noticed is for sale on another website (just thought you might find it interesting). If you would like to know the website, I can get it to you (just leave a post on this site). Anyway, thanks for the info and to the rest of you, I fished Tschida all day Saturday (8 AM to 5 PM) and caught one white bass and one walleye (both small and returned to the water). I started where the river meets the lake and worked my way towards the front of the lake without any luck. I guess the walleyes just aren't hungry yet. Saw probably 10 other boats all with very little luck (from what I could see). Hope my luck changes tomorrow. Once again, thanks coyote for the info and good luck! |

Lake Tschida (Heart Butte) - Saturday, April 23, 2005
Question, everyone is talking about the Dickinson sewage dumping into Tschida, I live in Dickinson, this is the first I heard of it........also if this were true, why isn't it affecting the Heart River upstream from Tschida.....I here all kinds of people are hammering the fish on the heart, from Richardton to Mouth of Tschida.
sorry for all the mispelling on below report,,,,,my typing skills or worse than the bite on Tschida i guess. |

Camolongifle,
sorry for the late respond, Fossil Point is the point which takes you into the New Lepzig site, which would be directly SW of Rattlesnake point....There is a huge cabin on the cliffs west of this point, it has upper deck and windows all the way around it...We moved this cabin to the lake and rebuilt it back in the days. Then ended up selling it for some dumb reason.......BUT fossil point,, is the name I know we and everyone called it as we grew up. There has been some 11lb, 12lb pund fish taken around that point years back. Hope this helps. Keep ths reports coming on Tschida, was the fish turn on it is a great lake to have have on. |
